Who operates Neatlet

Neatlet is operated by Edijs Petersons, an individual developer responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

For privacy questions or help with your information, email privacy@neatlet.app. For app help, visit Support or email support@neatlet.app.

Your account

Clerk manages sign-in and account information. Depending on whether you sign in with Apple, Google or email, this can include your email address, account identifier and profile details provided by that sign-in method. Apple or Google also processes your sign-in when you choose its service.

Cleaning data and photos

Your plans, spaces, chores, routines, progress, times and history are saved on your iPhone. Photos you take or select for Neatlet are also stored locally.

Private backups contain cleaning state and references to your photos. Original photos used by the app are backed up to private Cloudflare R2 storage. Convex manages backup records and which account owns the data. These services let you restore a saved backup when you replace your phone.

Changes save locally first; backup happens separately and needs a connection. One selected iPhone updates your account’s backup at a time. Neatlet does not continuously merge edits across devices.

Photos are accessed through expiring links. This is not end-to-end encrypted storage.

Membership and payments

Apple handles App Store payments. RevenueCat processes purchase status and account identifiers to check subscription or lifetime access. Neatlet does not collect your payment-card details.

App analytics and errors

PostHog processes product events linked to your account to help us understand app use and investigate problems. These include screens viewed, cleaning milestones and backup, restore, export or purchase failures, along with sanitized JavaScript error information.

These analytics exclude photos, chore text, credentials and signed photo links. Session replay is disabled. Native crash capture is not enabled.

Website analytics

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand traffic, such as page views, referrers, countries and device types. It uses no analytics cookies. This is separate from the app’s PostHog analytics; the website has no custom analytics events, waitlist or contact form.

Read Vercel’s explanation of Web Analytics privacy.

Support messages

When you email us, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards your message to our Gmail inbox, where Google stores and processes the correspondence. We use your email address, what you send and the information needed to answer your request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or private photos of your home.

Where information is processed

Our production photo storage is located in eastern North America. Our service providers may process information outside your country. Neatlet is operated from Thailand, where support and privacy requests may be handled.

Sharing is your choice

Neatlet creates share images and videos on your iPhone. Generated videos are not uploaded as cloud backup objects. You choose whether to send an export using the iOS share sheet. Copies you send to another service are then handled by that service.

Backups and retention

We keep account information and saved cloud content while needed to provide your account and backups, until you remove the information or request account deletion. App analytics events are subject to PostHog’s Free-plan retention period of one year, with account-deletion requests processed separately as described below.

Backup keeps the latest three complete checkpoints. Earlier checkpoints and unused files enter cleanup; removal is not immediate.

Recoverable photo removal is different from permanent deletion. Permanently deleted photos are removed from retained restore checkpoints before the stored photo files are purged.

Operational database snapshots may also contain account data. A small deletion record is retained to prevent old sessions and devices from writing to a deleted account. The deletion marker has no automatic expiry. Operational snapshots are kept for recovery and troubleshooting and may contain data pending removal from those copies. Support correspondence is kept as needed to answer requests, maintain relevant support history and resolve disputes. Billing records are retained as needed for membership administration, legal obligations and disputes; Apple and RevenueCat also apply their own retention requirements.

Delete your account

Use Account → Delete account in Neatlet. This blocks new backup writes, removes local account data and signs you out. Local cleanup includes generated exports and image caches; failed cleanup is retried.

A background process removes cloud photos and backup checkpoints, your Clerk account, and your PostHog profile and events. Physical cloud removal normally starts after a 24-hour waiting period so previously issued upload links can expire. This is not a promise of completion within 24 hours: service failures and asynchronous analytics deletion can take longer.

Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription or erase every Apple or RevenueCat billing record. Cancel your subscription separately through Apple.

If you cannot access the app, contact privacy@neatlet.app. We may need to verify account ownership using information appropriate to your request. We will not ask for your password.

Why we process information

We process account information, cleaning backups and membership status to provide the service you request. We use support information to respond to you, and limited diagnostic and usage information to maintain, secure and improve Neatlet.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement with you for core service features; legitimate interests in supporting users, securing the service and improving reliability where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and legal obligations where applicable. Where consent is required, that processing requires your consent, which you may withdraw.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a portable copy of your information, restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email privacy@neatlet.app to make a request, including an objection to account-linked analytics. We may need proportionate information to verify ownership. You may complain to your local data protection authority. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

Children and teenagers

Neatlet is intended for people aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, use Neatlet with the permission and involvement of a parent or legal guardian. Where local law requires parental authorization for particular processing, that requirement also applies.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Neatlet, contact privacy@neatlet.app so we can investigate and arrange appropriate deletion.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Neatlet or its data handling changes. We will update the effective date on this page and provide additional notice of material changes where required by law.
